In her new exhibition, Portuguese artist Helena Almeida (Lisbon, 1934-2018) presents a selection of her new artworks together with some previous materials, under the generic title Dentro de mim.

In the new series that we present for the occasion in the space of the gallery, images show a more intimate reflection upon the “self”, upon the emotions, while at the same time emphasizing movement and the idea of sequence, introducing paintings in the image. The setting is always the same studio where Almeida creates a scenography and acts with her body and the objects surrounding her, exhibiting her intimacy in order to transform it in reflections on the universal.
